Brenda Welburn is proud of her history.

The great-granddaughter of a slave who sent seven of his nine children to college, Brenda herself attended Howard University and earned multiple degrees. She worked in education for 35 years, serving as the Executive Director of the National Association for School Boards. She traveled the world with her husband, hitting six of the seven continents, and counting. And just when others might slow down, she retired and began her book series about Annie Cestry to inspire others to learn about their own family histories.

Connect with Brenda at BrendaWelburn.com to schedule a presentation and/or  buy her books, which are also available at the usual outlets.

You will learn:

  • You're never too old to expand your education and personal interests.
  • Younger generations should understand that they benefit from the struggles from their forefathers, but they can lose those gains if apathetic.
  • The new digital world hasn't enhanced the attention span of students, appearing to threaten college attendance in the future.
